The Most Famous Gay Friendly Beaches in Spain
If there is one thing for which Spain is known it is for its sun, its beaches and for its warm blood. Now that the good weather is coming and that you will be preparing your vacations we have prepared a definitive list of the gay beaches of the country. If you are also more of the sea than of the mountain, read this article.
As you will be thinking the Spanish beaches LGTBIfriendly are in the most open and inclusive cities of the country. In some of them the practice of nudism is allowed, in some it is totally obligatory (but come on, we encourage you to do so).
Gay friendly beaches in Catalonia
- La Mar Bella – Barcelona
Mar Bella is located in the district of Sant Martí, this gay beach has a length of more than 500 meters with different areas where you can find a nudity zone. Also nn the beach you will find BeGay beach bar, known for its parties and its busy action during the summer. In just 20 minutes from the city center you can reach the Mar Bella beach by subway (L4-Poblenou) or by bus (H16-Calvell Pass – Rambla del Poblenou).
- Bassa Ronda – Sitges
Sitges is 40 minutes away from Barcelona, a small, quiet and well-known town for tourism (and locals) for being one of the gay epicenters of the country. Bassa Rodona Beach is undoubtedly the best known gay beach in Sitges. Fine sand, warm water and lots of cool. What else would you want?
- The Dead Man Beach – Sitges
Located to the south of the city, the Dead Man Beach is a naturist or nudist gay beach, characterized by calm and shallow waters. The access is a bit complicated but it is certainly worth visiting this corner of Sitges.
Gay friendly beaches in the Canary Islands
- La Playa del Inglés – Maspalomas
Playa del Inglés is located in the dunes of Maspalomas with it’s beach line stretching more than 2 kilometers. You can find everything from nudist areas to cruising areas. The meeting point of this beach is in the famous “Chiringuito number 7”.
- The Dunes of Corralejo – Fuerteventura
The Dunes of Corralejo it is a gay friendly meeting point in Fuerteventura. The dunes also have a nudist zone and a cruising zone.
Gay friendly beaches of the Valencian Community
- Pinedo Beach
This is the most gay friendly beach in all of the Valencian Community. It also has a nudist zone (located next to the abandoned factory) and a cruising zone. Pinedo Beach is located on the Saler road.
Andalusian gay friendly beaches
- Eden Beach / Cat Beach – Torremolinos
Andalusia is best for summer holidays. This city has been the cradle of gay tourism for years. It is true that there are different gay beaches but the best known is the Eden Beach or yet also known as Cat Beach, although originally this beach had another name, the locals gave them those two nicknames due to the two gay clubs that are on the same shore.
Gay friendly beaches in the Balearic Islands
- Es Cavallet – Ibiza
Last but not the least, on this wonderful island, gay beaches could not be missing. And the best known is Es Cavallet. Just 15 minutes from downtown, this beach has everything from crystalline waters to the Chiringay, the well-known beach bar of the Gay collective in Ibiza.
- Figueretas Beach – Ibiza
Finally we have located on the same island, in the first bay of Figueretas beach is the area most frequented by the gay community. Apart from its crystal clear waters, this beach has a gay friendly bar Chaos.
