Living alone is one of the biggest challenges a man can face in his life. This experience offers a great opportunity for maturation and personal growth, but one must be prepared to face the lonely task. So in my article today we have some few tips that would help you when living alone:
No.1 LEARN TO COOK
While you might take it for granted, learning to cooking should be the first priority for everyone who lives alone. You can not live on hot-mix and snacks everyday. By mastering the art of gastronomy, you will eat better and healthier. Also remember to include fruits and vegetables on the menu. Cooking by yourself can also put your expenditure budget at minimum.
No.2 CUSTOMIZE HOUSE INTERIOR WITH YOUR LOOKS
As you will spend much time indoors, give your house a define look of you desire–that look that matches exactly you. Make a neat decoration by placing objects and furniture that match your personality. You do not need to put everything but just what might be important to have. Doing everything at one time can be expensive, so spare some cash every month to promote small upgrades in the house.
No.3 MAKE A FINANCIAL PLAN
To avoid getting lost in finances, the ideal is to have a spreadsheet in which you organize all your expenses. A suggestion to manage money? Do the 50-35-15 scheme. That is, spend 50% of your salary with essential expenses, 35% with lifestyle and 15% is to save. I would also advice you to go with this three types of budget:
- Deficit Budget: The budget that does not go beyond your set limit-it’s ideal
- Surplus Budget: The budget that go beyond your set limit but with a purpose
- Balanced Budget: The budget that doesn’t go below or beyond your set limit
No.4 BUY A VIDEOGAME
If you are not a loner, you are sure to enjoy getting your friends home from time to time. Nothing better for the crowd to have fun than playing video games or cards. This is a worthwhile investment.
No.5 A BOTTLE OF WINE? GO FOR IT
In addition to receiving friends, you’re sure to get a visit from women at home, too. So always have a bottle of wine in hand, so you can take it together while enjoying a more intimate moment. This will put you in a classic level as a gentleman
No.6 BE DISCIPLINED AND ORGANIZED
One of the biggest dangers of living alone is letting chaos take over the house. Do not yield to temptation. Wash the dishes on the same day, get into the mess every morning, set aside a day of the week to clean and wash your clothes. The environment is much more positive, pleasant and motivating when it is tidy.
No.7 HAVE A PLAN FOR WHEN TO BE SICK
From my own experience, getting sick is horrible especially when living alone. No one escapes from a flu or sporadic virus. The problem? You sometimes only realize this after you are already sick. Then draw a plan. Always have some basic medicines at home – for example for fever – and find out which hospitals are closest to your home, should symptoms worsen.
No.8 LEARN TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT
The music is great to keep you company in a few moments of solitude. Choose an instrument and find some tutorials online to learn how to play. The guitar is a very practical option, because it is easy to carry and relatively simple to learn the basic chords.
No.9 LIVE WITH YOUR MONSTERS
One of the biggest challenges of living alone is dealing with your monsters. You will spend a lot of time in your own company and, at those times, the thought flies away. Use this time to reflect; always talk to your friends and family about the issues that cause you anxiety; and if necessary, it’s worth even doing some therapy sessions to strengthen your emotional.
No.10 LEAVE HOME
Beware of the temptation to stay home on the couch, under the duvet, eating popcorn and watching movies all the time. Every now and then, no problem. But if you do it every day, in a little while you will be discouraged by life and, perhaps, even depressed. Create a routine that involves leaving home regularly, even if it is to go to the gym or shopping.
By now I think you will be ready to face that life of living alone. Just be sure to be consistence with each everything you do. I hope this article as has been of help.
